Dissertation note: Undergraduate Thesis (BSECE) - Electronics Engineering. Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges, 2025. Abstract: This paper provides a comprehensive analysis of the design and development of a hydrological sensor network for San Miguel, Nabua, Camarines Sur. It introduces a flood monitoring system that quantitatively measures and systematically records data about water level, precipitation, temperature, and humidity. The principal microprocessors utilized in this system are the Arduino Uno and ESP32. The evaluation conducted on the accuracy and latency of the data is notably extensive. The findings indicate that precipitation is recorded at 15.6932%, humidity at 0.1816%, temperature at 0.0642%, and water level at 0.478%. Furthermore, the latency of the network device (192.168.89.85) has also been rigorously assessed. Consequently, the testing results of the hydrological sensor network have demonstrated its efficacy in addressing hydrological issues in San Miguel, Nabua, and Camarines Sur. Comprehensive testing reaffirmed the device's performance, highlighting its capability to monitor critical parameters essential for flood risk assessment, including water levels, rainfall, temperature, and humidity. Following a careful evaluation, both accuracy and latency exhibited proper functionality with minimal transmission delays. Additional assessments have identified areas for potential enhancement, such as optimizing data display for stakeholders, conserving power consumption for prolonged usage, and improving environmental adaptability.
