This study explores an innovative combination of water hyacinth and coconut fiber to create an environmentally-friendly acoustic panel. It aims to design and build an alternative acoustics solution using natural fibers to contribute to the progress of environmentally-friendly acoustic technology. Varying ratios of water hyacinth and coconut fiber were utilized in the study. The assessment of the sound absorption coefficient of the panels was done using the Odeon room acoustics software. The evaluation was conducted with the objective of determining the most efficient proportion of water hyacinth to coconut fiber for optimum acoustic performance. Three (3) samples were tested at the frequency range of 250 Hz to 1600 Hz. The results revealed that the 70% coconut fiber - 30% water-hyacinth fiber composition ratio has the highest sound absorption coefficient of 3.9. While the 50% coconut fiber 50% water-hyacinth fiber composition ratio has a lower sound absorption coefficient of 1.9. The lowest absorption coefficient is provided by the 30% coconut fiber-70% water-hyacinth fiber mixture with a coefficient value of 1.8. Therefore, the 70% coconut fiber 30% water-hyacinth fiber mixture has the best performance in terms of sound absorption.
