Dissertation note: Undergraduate Theses (BSIT) - Information Technology. Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges, 2024. Abstract: The MAC Laboratory at CSPC faced challenges in attendance monitoring due to a man-ual tracking system that was inefficient, error-prone, and posed security risks. To address these issues, AttendanceGuard was designed, incorporating RFID and facial recognition for automated attendance logging and restricted access. The system was developed using Scrum methodology and a Mixed-Method Research Design, with Black Box Testing con-ducted to assess its functionality, reliability, and usability. Testing results demonstrated strong system performance, with system testing scores of 0.70 (Admin/IT Experts) and 0.98 (Users/IT Experts). Reliability testing scored 0.94, confirming stability, while usabil-ity testing achieved a perfect 1.00, indicating an intuitive and user-friendly experience. By eliminating manual attendance inefficiencies, enhancing security, and automating access control, AttendanceGuard improves laboratory management, operational accuracy, and en-try security. This study contributes to the advancement of attendance tracking systems and reinforces secure access control in academic institutions.
