Challenges on management practices of micro-enterprises in Buhi, Camarines Sur / Maria Cherry C. Calabines, Annabelle M. Catorce, and Joy B. Cielo.

This study aimed to determine the management practices of the microenterprises in Buhi, Camarines Sur, anxiety level of students in public speaking, the causes that may lead the students to experience public speaking anxiety along physical, cognitive, behavioral, and emotional, as well as to identify recommendations that can be proposed to overcome the anxiety of the students in public speaking. The respondents of this study were the 150 Bachelor of Science in Office Administration students, particularly from the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year level of Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges Buhi Campus. The descriptive method was used to attain the objectives of this study. The instrument used were adapted from the instruments developed by McCroskey et al. Survey questionnaire was utilized for data collection and was interpreted using weighted mean and percentage formula. The result showed that the students' anxiety level in public speaking was moderate. Furthermore, the indicators self-consciousness in front of a large group of people, inability to find proper words to express ideas, inadequate grammatical knowledge, lack of self-confidence, and fear of making mistakes were the major causes that leads the students to experience public speaking anxiety along physical, cognitive, behavioral, and emotional, respectively. Moreover, the most proposed recommendations were to practice in front of a mirror or around people/friends, work with their self-confidence, and public speaking workshops, seminars, training programs, and courses.
This study aimed to better understand the challenges that micro enterprises encounter in Buhi, Camarines Sur, as well as the management methods of these organizations. The proposed recommendations will address the challenges encountered by micro enterprises in Buhi, Camarines Sur to enable micro enterprises management practices to achieve sustainable status and boost global trade competitiveness.
