This study aimed to determine the perceived effects of emotional intelligence on the academic performance of students in Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges Buhi Campus. This study sought to identify the level of emotional intelligence of the students along self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management on the academic performance of the students. This study focuses on the perceived effects of emotional intelligence on respondent's academic performance in Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges Buhi Campus and was delimited to 117 students who are utilized the questionnaire as the data gathering tool which treated by statistical tools such as percentage and weighted mean. The descriptive method was used to attain the objectives. Based from the finding, 1) Most of the respondents belong to the age bracket of 18-20 years old, female, single, 2nd year students have a 5000 below household family income. 2) The result showed that the students have a high emotional intelligence along self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management. 3) The result revealed that majority of the students agree that self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management affect their academic performance. The most recommendation of the researchers is students must have guidance, workshops or training sessions focused on developing emotional intelligence skills for academic success, and students must communicate clearly and actively seek feedback from peers, instructors, or mentors to develop a good relationship and improve their emotional intelligence and academic interaction.
