Dissertation note: Undergraduate Theses (BSME) - Mechanical Engineering. Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges, 2022. Abstract: The study intends to offer a solution to one of the laborious farming procedures, namely the rice harvesting of smaller paddy rice fields that cannot be harvested or are for the large rice harvester now in use. The study focuses on the design and simulation of a manually operated, diesel-powered rice reaper for a single operator and only fewer than 2 hectares of farmland and direct planting of the rice variety NSIC RC 300 (Tubigan 24). The Rice Reaper Machine is made up of two diesel engines: a 5-horsepower engine for steering the machine and a 3 horsepower engine for the reaper component. Other components include crop dividers, a splitting bracket, star wheels, a cutting blade, and a scotch yoke mechanism connected to the reaper bar. Its components, harvesting capability, and effectiveness all play a role in how it works.
