Dissertation note: Undergraduate Theses (BSME) - Mechanical Engineering. Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges, 2022. Abstract: Design and Simulation of Pico Hydro-Powered Flood Early Warning System at Maguindara, Buhi, Camarines Sur was a system consist of two main components a hydro-powered generator and an inductive proximity speed sensor. The generator is powered by the force of water flow and converts the energy into electricity. This electricity powers the inductive proximity speed sensor, which is connected to the generator and is designed to measure the velocity of the water flow. If the Rotational Speed Monitor IM21-14Ex-CDTRi 1-channel detects that the water flow rate surpasses the predetermined rpm, the electronic siren and warning lights will be activated. Because of its self-contained nature, the system does not require a network connection or an external power source. Furthermore, the system is designed to be simple and low cost. The system can be easily installed in areas with a river prone to flooding and can provide early warning to the people in the area.
