Summary, etc. The cross-sectional study investigated the prevalence and determinants of home deliveries despite legal prohibition in the Fifth Congressional District of Camarines Sur. The multiple regression analysis design was utilized with the guide checklist as the main data-gathering instrument as basis for gathering information of 181 postpartum women.

The results revealed that the overall prevalence of home deliveries, despite legal prohibitions, in the Fifth Congressional District of Camarines Sur is 4.20 percent. The determinants to home deliveries in the Fifth Congressional District of Camarines Sur, despite legal prohibitions, include women predominantly aged 20-49 years who are housewives. Their spouses are also mostly aged 20-49 years and are laborers. Many of these women are not members of PhilHealth and are assisted by hilot during home deliveries. Additionally, a significant number are high school graduates, and their spouses have a similar educational background. These families typically have a monthly income of Php 3,000.00, with an average of four previous pregnancies, one delivery, and one living child. Irregular antenatal check-ups are also common among postpartum women.

The spouse's educational attainment, average family monthly income, number of pregnancies, number of deliveries, frequency of antenatal check-ups, and PhilHealth membership status are all significant predictors of home deliveries. In contrast, the age and occupation of postpartum women and their spouses, as well as the number of living children, did not show significant effects, suggesting these variables may not strongly influence the likelihood of home deliveries. The initiative to reduce the prevalence of home deliveries and improve maternal and child health outcomes in the Fifth Congressional District of Camarines Sur aims to address the high rates of home births. The plan focuses on increasing institutional deliveries, improving maternal health outcomes, enhancing healthcare access, empowering communities, and ensuring sustainable health improvements to create a healthier and safer environment for childbirth.
