This study explores the adoption of Paleng-QR Ph and traditional market payment methods in Naga City, focusing on issues related to the use of digital payments by wet market vendors. Despite government incentives to adopt Paleng-QR Ph, market vendors still predominantly prefer cash payments. Key issues identified include dissatisfaction with digital payments, unreliable internet connectivity, technical problems, difficulty in understanding the system, and delays in transaction processing, all of which may hinder the sustainability of this payment method. The researchers used a survey questionnaire involving 10 respondents who use Paleng-QR Ph and 10 respondents who use traditional market payment methods. The analytical tools employed to support the study’s objectives include pie charts, bar graphs, a dichotomous scale, an independent t-test, and the Rasch-Andrich Rating Scale. The results show no significant difference in awareness, satisfaction, and sustainability between the two systems, indicating that Paleng-QR Ph has not surpassed cash payments in public wet markets in terms of reliability or user preference. The study recommends enhancing infrastructure through the Paleng-QR Ph roadmap, beginning with awareness campaigns, vendor onboarding, sustainability measures for maintaining the payment system, feedback collection through surveys and evaluations, continued incentives and training for vendors, and policy xvi reforms. This provides a clear path for the Paleng-QR Ph program to improve satisfaction, build trust, and achieve long-term sustainability as a digital payment system in public markets.
