Survey questionnaires were distributed to 126 elderly respondents of Causip, Bula Camarines Sur. The results showed that most of the respondents belong to the age group of 60-64 years old, married, elementary undergraduate, Roman Catholic, and gets their financial source through Senior Citizen subsidy. The respondents fully understood the preventive measures, but not completely understood the curative and complementary and alternative therapies. Further, they are greatly affected by perceived severity, perceived benefits, and perceived barriers. Most of the categories within the respondents’ profiles have no significant relationship with their level of understanding of health-seeking behaviors. However, educational attainment has shown significant results and appears to be correlated with the respondents’ level of understanding. Both the residents especially the elderly with their families and the barangay health personnel should collaborate more to achieve a better understanding of health-seeking behaviour. It can be done through investing efforts in health promotion programs and providing new and improved health-related programs to cater the needs of the residents, highlighting a better health outcome.
