This study aims at knowing how the workloads of Barangay Health Workers
(BHWs) in the Municipality of Buhi impact their efficiency in service delivery. Specifically, it described the profile of BHWs, measured their workload in terms of services provided, administrative tasks, and working time, analyzed their efficiency in service delivery with regard to timeliness, responsiveness, accuracy of health records, interpersonal relationships, and client satisfaction, and evaluated the relationship between workload and service efficiency. Data were collected from sixty (60) BHWs from selected barangays in Buhi using a descriptive correlational research design and a validated survey questionnaire. Most respondents were female, in middle adulthood (35-54 years old), had a high school education, and had served as BHWs for 1 to 5 years. A large proportion were responsible for more than sixty households, with monthly honoraria ranging from 1,001 to 2,000. Their service delivery, administrative workload, and working time were rated as good. Efficiency in service delivery was rated as efficient to highly efficient, especially in interpersonal skills and the maintenance of health records. Correlation results indicated that despite a moderate service delivery workload, BHWs still provided efficient services. These findings suggest that BHWs can perform their duties effectively despite multiple commitments. Therefore, the study recommends further training, balanced distribution of work, appropriate remuneration, and improved facilities in health centers to maintain and enhance service delivery efficiency in the municipality of Buhi.
