The Open Laboratory of the College of Computer Studies at Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges previously relied on traditional manual logging for access control. This practice presented significant challenges, particularly in ensuring security and preventing unauthorized access. In response, the study proposed "BioEntry," a web-based door lock management system designed to enhance security measures within the CCS Open Laboratory. The BioEntry system integrated advanced technologies, including RFID, PIN codes, and bio-metric verification, to establish multi-layered authentication process. Its features included real-time monitoring, streamlined user management, and scheduling capabilities, providing a secure and efficient solution for laboratory access. The system was designed to be exclusive to CSPC students and staff, with access restricted to CSPC email addresses. To evaluate the effectiveness of the system, a series of tests were conducted using black box testing methods. The results demonstrated that the system achieved an overall functionality score of 0.90, classifying it as highly functional. This outcome underscored the system's ability to address security challenges effectively and meet its intended objectives of improving access control, ensuring safety, and preventing unauthorized entry. Through its advanced features and proven functionality it provided a reliable and secure solution tailored to the needs of the CCS Open Laboratory, setting a benchmark for resource access management within the institution.
