Automated drip irrigation system for cabbage / Zariah Kay D. Lagatic, [and 4 others]. - 124 leaves.
Undergraduate Theses (BSECE) - Electronics Engineering.
Includes bibliographical references.
Drip irrigation has become a viable method to optimize water efficiency and improve agricultural output in different regions worldwide [9]. A drip irrigation technique uses pipes with holes placed next to the crop, slightly above the ground, to water it gradually while minimizing water loss and guaranteeing that the soil is evenly moistened [10]. The development of this method is continuous due to the rising scarcity of water resources and the appearance of technological advances (e.g., automaton and wireless connections). This study aimed to fabricate alternative irrigation methods for irrigating cabbage that are currently being utilized by local farmers in Buhi. The study determined the characteristics of the cultivation area and the water requirements of cabbage and evaluated its overall performance. The system was evaluated with average results obtained from the test for sensors 1 and 2 7.496% and 4.096%, using the set criteria and interpreted as very reliable and highly reliable respectively. These results show and conclude that the proposed device can perform irrigation for cabbage based on the gathered soil moisture content.
